Refund Policy
Effective Date: 1 June 2025
1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing CareerAgent for your AI-powered career assessment. As a provider of a digital product that grants immediate access upon purchase, our refund policy reflects the nature of our service delivery. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.
2. Nature of CareerAgent Service
CareerAgent provides an online, AI-powered career assessment that generates recommendations based on the input provided by the user during a single session. Upon successful payment, immediate access to the assessment is granted. Since no user accounts are created and no student personal information is saved by CareerAgent beyond the immediate session, the service is considered fully delivered once the assessment is accessed and results are generated.
3. General Policy for Digital Products
Due to the instant and intangible nature of our digital product, all sales are generally considered final once the assessment has been accessed and the service has been rendered.
4. Eligibility for Refunds
CareerAgent may consider a refund request under the following limited circumstances:
- Technical Failure: If you are genuinely unable to access or complete the CareerAgent assessment due to a verifiable technical fault on our side that cannot be resolved within a reasonable timeframe (e.g., the web app is entirely non-functional). This excludes issues arising from your device, internet connection, or browser settings.
- Duplicate Purchase: If you accidentally made multiple, identical purchases for the same single assessment within a short period.
- Fraudulent or Unauthorized Purchase: If a purchase was made fraudulently or without your explicit authorization. You must provide evidence of this to our satisfaction.
5. Non-Eligibility for Refunds
Refunds will generally NOT be granted under the following circumstances:
- Change of Mind: If you change your mind after accessing the assessment.
- Dissatisfaction with Recommendations: CareerAgent provides recommendations based on AI analysis of user inputs. It is a guidance tool and not a guarantee of specific outcomes, employment, or academic success. Dissatisfaction with the recommendations generated does not constitute a valid reason for a refund.
- User Input Errors: If the recommendations are inaccurate due to incorrect or incomplete information provided by the user during the assessment (e.g., incorrect report card marks or answers). Users are responsible for the accuracy of their inputs.
- Failure to Meet System Requirements: If your device or internet connection does not meet the general requirements for using a web application (e.g., outdated browser, slow internet).
- After Assessment Completion: Once the assessment has been successfully completed, accessed, and results have been copied or downloaded.
6. How to Request a Refund
All refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to [email protected] within 7 calendar days of the purchase date.
Your refund request must include the following information:
- Your name and contact details (email and phone number).
- Date and time of purchase.
- Transaction ID or proof of payment from PayStack.
- A clear and detailed explanation of the reason for your refund request, supported by any relevant evidence (e.g., screenshots of errors).
7. Refund Process and Timelines
Upon receiving your refund request, CareerAgent will review it based on the eligibility criteria outlined above. We aim to process eligible refund requests within 10-14 business days of receiving all necessary information.
If a refund is approved, the funds will be returned via the original payment method used for the purchase (e.g., through PayStack) where technically feasible. Please note that it may take additional time for the refund to reflect in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider.
